I was born in Boston and lived most of my childhood in Maynard, Mass. My formal art training includes Syracuse University (B.F.A. in Design), the Academy of Art in San Francisco, and both the Quinsigamond School and the Museum School in Worcester, Mass. I decided to be a fine artist soon after leaving Syracuse, which is when I began to paint seriously. I have been painting since and started showing my work a short time ago. John Singer Sargent’s style of portraiture – "to capture the most with the least" – is a philosophy of painting to which I aspire. I have lived in California, including Los Angeles, San Francisco and Berkeley. I have also lived on Cape Cod in Wellfleet and North Truro. I currently reside in West Barnstable, where I operate The Agin Fine Art Gallery. |
